about

Track written by Simon Rupert. "I once randomly bought an old french silver charm at Spitalfields flea market. It St Philomena - a patron saint for hopeless causes. Somehow this appealed to me and I wore her round my neck on an old silver chain. For a while she was my lucky talisman at gigs. This is - to a certain extent - her story..." She's had a little bit of airplay on local radio too. Liz Druce guests as St Philomena herself...

lyrics

St Philomena take me in
I’ve been around this world
And I’ve been back again
All the things I’ve done
And everything I’ve seen
The seven wonders
And the other things between
St Philomena take me in

St Philomena give me hope
Without your guiding hand
How would I ever cope
I gave my heart away
Now everything is lost
I’d do it all again
But I couldn’t stand the cost
St Philomena give me hope

And I will always be true to you
My cause is hopeless and it’s lost
I will always pay my dues to you
St Philomena / A love forever lost

St Philomena Stand by me
I wear you round my neck
Protect the fool in me
There beneath my shirt
Warm against my breast
You warn away the jinxes
And to pacify the rest
St Philomena stand by me

St Philomena I’m your man
I pray and worship you
Most every day I can
When my time is through
When the day is done
I always turn to you
You are the only one
St Philomena I’m your man

about

Tuppenny Blue Whitby, UK

The band have a unique and extensive repertoire of original songs & music with a style that is melodic but defies easy classification - neither slotting into a niche which could be defined as Blues, Folk, or pop, but more often some elements combining the above.
During 2020 we've been busy putting together a new album: ODD NUMBERS due for release early in 2021. Visit also: www.tuppennyblue.co.uk
